NEW CONSUMER UNITS & FUSE BOX UPGRADES

Your Consumer Unit or Fuse Box is the main protective system for your property (It’s the name used to represent the newer style trip switch ‘box’ that replaces your old tired fuse box).  Not only does it allow electricians to use varying sized cables, it prevents fires and also protects you and others within your property whilst using the electrical system.

It’s important to have your Consumer Unit and the fixed wiring within your home tested EVERY 5 YEARS at a maximum to ensure that it is functioning correctly and will do its job protecting you, your family and your home.

We fit only the very latest Consumer Units, offering the highest level of safety and work primarily with HAGER Consumer Units as they are the only ASTA approved manufacturer.

 

How much does a new Consumer Unit cost?…

We only install HAGER split load RCD protected Consumer Units (now with built in surge protection) available in 10-way and 14-way design.  This covers 90% of domestic properties, however if you have storage/panel heaters supplied from a separate Consumer Unit, you will require a separate Economy 7 Consumer Unit as detailed below.

(Each way represents 1x fuse or trip switch – if you count up the number of fuses you have, you can determine which Consumer Unit you require)

 

Garage Consumer Units

  • 2-way Consumer Unit, Supplied, Fitted & Test Certificate Issued – £305.88***

 

House Consumer Units

  • 10-way Consumer Unit, Supplied, Fitted & Test Certificate Issued – £951.61***
  • 14-way Consumer Unit, Supplied, Fitted & Test Certificate Issued – £1107.61***

 

Storage/Panel Heater Consumer Units

  • 6-way Consumer Unit, Supplied, Fitted & Test Certificate Issued – £340.44

***Please Note: We are unable to include for the rectification of any faults found on existing circuits when testing prior to installing a new Consumer Unit.  Any faults found will need to be rectified at additional cost. If you do not wish to continue after testing is complete, we require payment for the testing at the rates detailed on our testing page.
